Cliff Wenn

Coach and Co-founder

Coach Cliff has over 40 year's experience teaching and playing squash.

He is certified at the highest level by the WPSA, a member of the Harrow Squash Pro Advisory Staff, a US Squash Pro Affiliate, and a US Squash National Verifier. Cliff holds a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and an M.S. in Sports Management, magna cum laude from Northeastern University.

Cliff is a Malaysian/American who grew up overseas in India, Singapore, and Malaysia where he learned the game from several of the region’s top coaches and players. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to play and train with many top 100 players and was the training/sparring partner for 5 years to former Malaysian National Champion, and former world #62, Razlan Hashim.

Over the past 30 years in the US, Cliff has been a Head Pro at several Boston area clubs, and was a Head College Squash Coach for 10 years at both Tufts University and at Wellesley College.

Currently Cliff is the Squash Director at the Maugus Club in Wellesley, where he has taught for the past 25 years. Cliff has coached many top nationally ranked juniors and adults from novice all the way up to international standard.

Cliff’s racket of choice is the Harrow KG Vibe used on tour by Egyptian Pro and 2016 World Champion, Karim Abdel Gawad. “This racket has fantastic touch, power, and great control and really feels like an extension of your hand. The balance is weighted slightly more to the head, and has the right amount of flexibility that favors a shot maker."
